What are the properties and uses of NaOH?

 Sodium Hydroxide or NaOH is a well-known solid-iconic compound majorly known as caustic soda, sodium hydrate. It generates heat and is created by mixing the compound into the water and control the pH levels. It comes with the inorganic compound known as buffering point.

Sodium Hydroxide
is a white translucent crystalline solid. It has corrosive properties that decompose the protein at room temperature. There are chances it can cause a chemical burn to human bodies. Their manufacturing takes place on large scale on a rapid scale. NaHCO3 has a molar mass of 39.997 mol, a density of 2.13 cm, a boiling point of 1,388 Celsius, and a melting point of 318 degrees celsius.

Common uses of NaOH

● It is used in the manufacturing of detergents and soaps.
● It is used in the production of bleach-like chlorine.
● It is used in cleaning the drains.
● It is used as a source of papermaking and paper recycling process.
● It is used for canning.
● It is used to prevent the bacteria in foods or preservatives, or eliminate the growth of these bacteria in foods.
● Removal of heavy metals from the water to remove the dirt.
